News Reports PAC Seeks Yes Vote in Goshen Schools' Referendum

From the Goshen News:

Say yes, Goshen.

That is the message a newly formed group, Say Yes Goshen Political Action Committee (PAC), plans to promote during the next 11 weeks in the run up to the Goshen Community Schools Bond Referendum Special Election set for Nov. 5.

“We want to educate and promote the general public about the referendum which includes a new pool and the expansion of the entire music department,” said Dee Creviston, President of the Goshen Band Boosters.

The bond referendum is the school corporation’s desire to undertake a $17.15 million construction project involving both Goshen Middle School and Goshen High School.

Board members want to renovate the two schools to add space for the music programs, physical education programs and to consolidate the pools in both schools into one new pool at one of the schools.

“I truly believe in this project,” Creviston said. “We plan to work closely with the school board to make sure the proper information has been given to the public. We are trying to spread the word.”

The PAC was started by a group of concerned parents who all have a vested interest in the GMS and GHS renovations through their involvement in groups such as the band, orchestra and choir boosters as well as Goshen Swim Inc., added PAC member Megan Eichorn.
