Star Press Reports Muncie Schedules Town Meeting to Discuss Schools

The school district is asking for voters to go to the polls Nov. 5 to decide on the district's request for financial help, in the form of a property tax increase, to fund the running of the school buses after the 2013-14 school year.

It will amount to an increase of 39 cents on each $100 of assessed property value.

Board member Michael Long said it’s all about getting as much information from the public as possible. Members have noted in the past that they are surprised the regular board meetings of late have not had bigger audiences.

Perhaps they are waiting until the town halls, board member Debbie Feick has said.
