City Council Approves Property Tax Abatement for Kirby Risk Expansion in Lafayette

From the Lafayette Journal and Courier:

Lafayette electrical supply manufacturer Kirby Risk will move forward with plans to connect two of its McCarty Lane plants following unanimous approval Monday by the City Council to grant the project 10-year partial tax abatement.

The 24,000-square-foot project will connect the two plants with docks and drive-in doors and is expected to cost $1.3 million.

It will generate eight full-time jobs, said Doug Mansfield, president and chief operating officer of the Kirby Risk Service Center. Those jobs will add to the company’s current 359-employee workforce and generate a combined estimated payroll of $196,419.

Mansfield said construction will start immediately and is expected to be complete by the end of the year.
