From the Elkhart Truth:
More jobs are on their way to Middlebury and Millersburg via Forest River Inc., one of the largest recreational vehicle companies in Elkhart County.
The Elkhart County Council approved a pair of tax breaks for the company Saturday that span the next eight years. In exchange for the incentive, Forest River has promised to expand its operation by adding 160 full-time positions.
The company’s Millersburg location on S.R. 13 will see the largest boost, with 120 new employees earning annual salaries totaling $5.5 million. The property’s redevelopment is estimated at $2 million, with new manufacturing equipment valued at $150,000.
Forest River will add 40 jobs and $1.25 million in new equipment in Middlebury. Salaries for new employees there will be $1.8 million annually.
“We recognize the fact that Forest River can build their plants anywhere,” council president John Letherman said. “We are thankful that they are choosing to make significant investments in Elkhart County which further cement Forest River in the community.”
