Indiana Materials Processing Awarded Tax Credits for Investment Near Columbia City

From the Fort Wayne Journal-Gazette:

A steel industry supplier will invest $3.2 million in Whitley County, where it expects to create up to 22 jobs by 2015.

Indiana Materials Processing LLC announced Wednesday plans to build and equip a 21,000-square-foot factory that will process scrap material that becomes feedstock to steel mills and foundries.

The proposed location is in Rail Connect Business Park, east of Columbia City, but the final site hasn’t been determined, said Alan Tio, president of the Whitley County Economic Development Corp.

The Indiana Economic Development Corp. offered the company up to $100,000 in tax credits and up to $50,000 in training grants based on the company’s job creation plans.

Whitley County on Wednesday approved an additional property tax abatement.
