E&H Tubing Plans to Seek Tax Abatement from Brownstown

From the Seymour Tribune:

An Illinois company recently completed the purchase of a Brownstown steel tubing producer from Chapter 11 bankruptcy and plans to continue operations in Jackson County.

Part of E&H Tubing Inc.’s plan involves asking the Brownstown Town Council to transfer $3 million in tax abatements from the former Indiana Steel and Tube Inc., an official said Tuesday.

Jim Plump, executive director of Jackson County Industrial Development Corp., said that request will be made during tonight’s council meeting at town hall.
Dill Whittymore, former owner of Indiana Steel and Tube Inc., is expected to make that request.

Whittymore could not be reached for comment.
