The St. Joseph County Board of Commissioners Tuesday approved a resolution authorizing an online commissioners tax certificate sale March 1-11.
The sale will include delinquent properties in the county that did not sell at previous tax sales.
Properties with improvements will sell for no more than 25 percent of all taxes, penalties, and fees; vacant properties will sell for $25.
The sale is a buyer-beware sale. Successful bidders must meet due diligence requirements in order to take title to the property.
The owner of record has 120 days from the sale date to redeem the property for the total amount of taxes owed plus penalties and fees. Properties may also be redeemed prior to the sale.
About 1,700 properties are eligible to be included in the sale.
