A $3 million, 75,000-square-foot speculative building is bound to attract a tenant given its proximity to the railway, officials said Monday.
The Whitley County Council approved a 10-year tax abatement for the building this morning. Whitley RC Investments will construct the building and would save $201,856.
Whitley County Economic Development Corp. President Alan Tio said officials are confident an industrial tenant will find the structure attractive, especially given its proximity to the railway. The spec building would reside inside the Rail Connect Business Park.
“Based on our analysis this is both the right time and the right location to develop a shell building,” Whitley RC Investments partner Simon Dragan said in a statement.
