A request for a $30,000 Economic Development Income Tax (EDIT) grant from Paragon Casket Inc. in Richmond was unanimously approved Monday by the Economic Development Corporation of Wayne County board at its regular meeting at Ivy Tech Community College Richmond.

The EDIT grant funds will be used to purchase new equipment and provide training for employees.
“I hope within a couple of years we’ll have the reputation of being one of the better places to work,” Ball told the board.
Ball said the grant will give him some “breathing room” as he faces the expenses involved in combining the two companies.
On Wednesday, the grant will go before the Wayne County commissioners for final approval.
